Future Engineer?

These are Aaron's "inventions" as he likes to refer to them. He took a box of legos and turned almost every block into some sort of creation. What I like is that he also named each one of them! One of my faves was an ice cream truck with a plank for the ice cream to be dispensed!

Aaron you are so creative! And you amaze me every day.

Another example of his mind at work...He needed a bandage today but we only had the oversize knee bandage. I said, "Sorry, I'll have to get some more at the store." Aaron - "But Mom, we can just cut one of those to make a smaller band-aid."

And that's what we did! Smarty Pants.

Welcome Back Sun . . . We've Missed You!

Spring is here! Now, in Utah that means many varieties of weather, including snow. So we make sure to take advantage every time we have a sunny day. I've missed the good weather and I know the kids were extra anxious to go outside and play.

This weekend was especially nice - so I spent Saturday in the yard while Mike worked the aerators for the YM Fundraiser. Sunday we went for a family walk and enjoyed the beautiful weather some more!

I've started walking in the mornings again as well. I love walking while the sun is rising - it's a great way to start my day. There's a fun story here. As many of you know Mike has been doing the P90X. He usually fits his workouts in at night, but sometimes he'll get up early and do it. This is not preferred for Michael, he is NOT a morning person, but I am! So after I fed the baby early (5:45 am) this morning I walked over to his side of the bed and turned off the alarm he was purposely ignoring. He mumbled something about getting up to work out, but I asked how he felt if I took the opportunity and went for my power walk? . . . He immediately agreed, pushed me out the door then started snorring again. It's wonderful when we use our differences to our advantage.

Let's Go Play!

One Year Older...

(Moriah's at that age where she misses a lot of our photo opps because of naps) Sorry baby.

Mommy's Birthday. . .

I love it when Mike gets me what I was hinting for! I'm holding a head set that plugs into my cordless phone. See, I hate talking on the phone IF that's the only thing I'm doing. I love talking on the phone IF I can be ironing or folding laundry or rocking a baby at the same time.

Yes, I know...I really like to multi-task.

Thanks Babe! This was a wonderful birthday!!! Last weekend we spent the night in Park City, with bargain shopping for kid's clothes to follow the next day - one of my fav past times - thanks for putting up with it Honey!

And on my birthday I went for a long walk with Beks and Mo, got a pedicure, ran some errands (alone - no kids, yay!) surprised Emma at school for lunch, ate pizza and Pepsi for dinner, took Mo to my RS meeting then came home to blow out the candles on my brownies!

Thanks Family - You are the BEST!

A Long Time Ago, in an Apartment Not too Far Away...

This jewlery box has a story behind it...

The Christmas of 2002 Michael and I were feeling very poor! We were building our first house, I was expecting our first child and I had just quit my job. So we decided we would give eachother a very modest Christmas.

Around the same time, Michael's Dad came back from a business trip with some really cool orange wood. In the Rimington Men Tradition they turned his recent acquisition into something absolutely stunning! Using a combination of the orange tree wood, purple heart and cherry they made jewlery boxes for Tammy and myself.

I have a picture of my (then unfinished) box under the tree in 2002. Now for my birthday...in 2010, I have a picture of my beautiful and completed jewlery box. Better late than never, right? I love it honey, it's gorgeous...now if I only had some jewlery to put in it. :) If you know me well, you know why I don't.

What made Michael F i n a l l y finish it? Well, he has several wood projects in mind, but I reminded him he doesn't get to start any of them, until my jewlery box was finished. Yay!
Now, bring on the shed, Aaron's captain's bed, and of course the girls' jewlery boxes! As if he wasn't busy enough...oh well. Hopefully the girls won't have to wait as long as their Mother did.
Just kidding Babe, it was worth the wait! ;)

Show and Tell

For Emma's Show and Tell this week, she really wanted to bring her Kitty. But we explained that Sunny wouldn't really enjoy being shown off, in fact it would probably freak her out! So, we asked her if she would like to take her little sister. Emma loved that idea! Moriah was a very good subject as Emma told the class about her baby sister. One of the questions a child asked Emma, was if she likes having a baby sister...to which Emma answered, "yes, she does!"
She really does.
You're a very good big sister Emma.

Dress Up

Rebekah DID NOT want her picture taken!

Emma was playing dress up the other day (a favorite past time if you have little girls in the home). She came up stairs with this necklace wrapped decoratively around her head and wearing an old skirt of mine. She's full of imagination and I couldn't resist taking this picture.

"Put Your Shirt Back On!"

Forget the fork on the left, or where to place your napkin,
let's just try to stay fully clothed.
Did I ever think that I would be telling my kids,
"Put your shirt back on!" when invited over to a friends house for dinner?!
No, I didn't. But as I'm learning every day, my kids are full of surprises.
A dear friend of mine invited us over for dinner to break up the time while Mike is gone on his business trip. So sweet of her! And I was totally looking forward to it.
So I made my yummy cobbler and we went over tonight.
Then my kids said they were feeling hot and proceeded to undress at the kitchen table!
Yikes! Why yes, I am raising a bunch of little monkeys!
I coaxed Aaron back into his shirt. Scolded Bekah before she got hers off, then went back to my plate over at the counter.
Then I look up at Bekah and she's got her pants half off because her legs were hot!
Are you kidding me?!

Easter Bunny Fun!

Eggs EVERYWHERE!

What did the Easter Bunny bring? Emma got some iCarly people, Aaron got some a little pack of Toy Story guys, and Bekah got a new princess Barbie. Oh, and don't forget the candy!
"What's going on guys?"

"This one's mine! I made it all by myself"
